I am so excited about the ministry in Hin Laat. These folks have totally changed my life. What is amazing to me is the way God led us in starting this church.
A couple years ago we held an outreach in Hin Laat, a village just down from Wang To.
At that time the Wang To group was very small itself, actually just starting. Gaan wanted to reach out to her neighbors, but the only thing that opened up for us at that time was the town square building.
That first night a lady Mae Bluk came to know the Lord.
When she came to church the next Sunday, she wanted us to pray for her. In the middle of the service she burst out, "Why am I so happy!!" Mae Bluk followed Jesus and was baptized.
The next time we had an outreach in Hin Laat, we met many people who seemed to be interested, but nothing really developed even though we saw some major healings and even some prayed to receive Christ. I think the main problem was that we were unsure what to do with these new people. We did not know how to work around the farmer's work schedule. So the seed of the Word of God ended up being choked by the cares of this life.
Several months ago, God began working in Hin Laat once again.
A lady named Bow heard that Gaan, our helper from Wang To, helped people to find work. She called Gaan and before long was sharing her life story with her. She was crying because of the way her life had gone. She was ready for a change. Gaan shared Jesus with her and she came the next day to our house to receive Jesus.
The next few days she brought her husband to our house for prayer. His name is Prasit.
Prasit had just been in a terrible accident. Someone was trying to rob his house which is also a small store, and Prasit came downstairs to see what was happening. He was then attacked, stabbed many times with a knife and was badly beat up. The doctors did not know if he would live.
But God had mercy on his soul. He wanted him to meet Him.
The next thing we know, Bow called and asked us to come to her house to pray for the evil spirits to leave.
We came to the house with our family. Isaac was visiting and we were going to go out and have a family day before Isaac left. But we decided to go visit Hin Laat instead. Gaan and another lady from Wang To, Mae Sangat, went with us. When we arrived Bow and her husband were waiting and they had invited other members of their family to meet us.
We shared the gospel with them all and a man from down the street named Tong Dang came up at the last. He had a son who had just been paralyzed from a car accident and he wanted us to pray for him. Bill shared the gospel again and we prayed for all of them there and then we walked down the street to Tong Dang's house.
As soon as I saw his wife sitting on the floor taking care of her son, the Lord spoke to me that she was going to have a reward in heaven.
We prayed for Nong Kiow, the son, to be healed and walked back to Bow' s house singing as we went along and met other people in the village.
As we were going to get in our car and go home, a lady said, I would like for you to pray for me.
We went back in the house and sat down on the mat and ministered to her.
Can you imagine my surprise and shock when a week or two later, I heard that she was killed in a car accident! You never know when God is leading you and I have learned that we need to make the most of every opportunity!
We asked Tong Dang and his wife, Mae Ting if it was OK if we came back the next week. We kept going back and before long there was quite a group there of believers and interested people.
Nong Kiow is not healed yet, but he is really a lot better. God has worked in their lives so much. I want to tell the individual testimonies one at a time.
